	Title: Clinical Guideline RH Ward Published: January 2007 Summary: The main aim of the guidelines is to support clinicians and patients in ‘effective methods’ to deal with any form of harassment but especially racial harassment and to ultimately reduce the incidents of racial abuse thus ensuring that the work place is a safe and respectful environment for all.
	Title: Racial Harass PDF Clinical Guidline Published: January 2007 Summary: This document sets out clinical guidelines (as opposed to policy) to help staff manage incidents of racial harassment between patients or from patients to staff. It contributes to the Trust’s aim of creating a culture of mutual respect between all staff and all service users.
	Title: ENARgy 17 Structural Racism Published: July 2006 Summary: This edition of ENARgy, focuses on structural racism. Widely used yet rarely defined, terms such as institutional racism, structural discrimination and systematic racism are contrasted with individual acts of discrimination and refer to two distinct phenomena.

	Title: Amended Leaflet Racial Harassment Published: November 2005 Summary: This is a Clinical Guideline and is NOT a policy. It has been introduced to help staff manage incidents of racial harassment between patients or from patients to staff. It contributes to the Trust’s aim of creating a culture of mutual respect between all and adhering to the Trust policy statement. The central theme underlying the guideline is the fundamental right that everyone, irrespective of background or position, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
	Title: Count me in Census - Service User survey Published: 2005 Summary: This report marks the culmination of an often challenging but ultimately rewarding project to undersatnd the experiences of mental health service users from Black and minority ethnic communities.
	Title: Count Me In Census Results Published: November 2005 Summary: Results of a national census of inpatients in mental health hospitals and facilities in England and Wales. This census was intended primarily to encourage sustainable, high quality ethnic assessment and monitoring; and to provide a baseline against which we can measure changes in mental health care in the future.
	Title: MHAC Biennial report - In place of fear Published: 2005 Summary: "The Mental Health Act Commission is charged with monitoring the implementation of powers and discharge of duties arising from the detention and treatment of patients under the Mental Health Act 1983. This report is based upon our work over the financial years 2003/04 to 2004/05, during which time we have continued to visit all psychiatric facilities that detain patients, and meet with patients in private."
	Title: Ethnicity and stress Published: 2005 Summary: The purpose of the present research was to investigate the prevalence of reported occupational stress and psychiatric disorder in Black Caribbean, Asian and White workers and to understand the reasons for differences in occupational stress between ethnic groups.

	Title: Culture and care in dementia Published: January 2004 Summary: A Study of the Asian Community in North West Kent. A Report by Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Services, Funded by The Mental Health Foundation.
	Title: UKLAN report 2 Published: 2003 Summary: The Department of Health’s Black and Minority Ethnic Drug Misuse Needs Assessment Project. Community Engagement - Report 2: The Findings. The project commenced November 2000 with forty-seven community groups following a model of Community Engagement involving local drug needs assessments that resulted in 51 reports. All of the reports were presented and produced in the local Drug Action Team (DAT) area where they were undertaken. This report provides a summary of the key findings from the reports.
	Title: 77833 Engage Change Published: October 2003 Summary: Developing effective policy for the care and treatment of Black and minority ethnic detained patients. The document provides guidance material in relation to the development of policies concerning the care and treatment of Black and minority ethnic detained patients in the areas of ethnic monitoring, racial harrassment, the use of interpreters and the provision of culturally appropriate care and staff training.
	Title: Daksha Emson inquiry Published: October 2003 Summary: Report of an independent inquiry set up to investigate the causes of the deaths of Dr Daksha Emson and her daughter.
	Title: Independant Inquiry into the Death of David Bennett Published: December 2003 Summary: This is an Inquiry set up under HSG(94)27 by the Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Strategic Health Authority after consultation with the Department of Health as a result of the death of Mr David Bennett at The Norvic Clinic on 30 October 1998. Title: David Bennett Audit Framework Summary: This paper sets out a framework of points for consideration that will be used to undertake the local audits of mental health services to determine action that has been taken or needs to be taken as a result of the recommendations of the independent inquiry into the death of David Bennett. Title: Delivering Racial Equality in Mental Health Published: January 2005 Summary: This document combines (a) a five-year action plan for reducing inequalities in Black and minority ethnic patients’ access to, experience of, and outcomes from mental health services; and (b) the Government response to the recommendations made by the inquiry into the death of David Bennett.

	Title: Ethnic diversity London Published: August 2003 Summary: Ethnic Diversity and Mental Health in London: Recent developments. The enquiry aims to assess whether London's mental health and mental health services have improved over the last five years.
	Title: Housing and BME communities Published: May 2003 Summary: This review was commissioned in 2001 to provide an independent analysis of key materials and findings relevant to policy concerns. The report presents an overview of the research record and available data in the field of housing, ‘race’ and ethnicity. It also identifies important topics that might deserve further investigation.
	Title: Inside_Outside Published: March 2003 Summary: The Mental Health National Service Framework (MHSNF) recognised that services were not adequately meeting the needs of black and minority ethnic service users and that communities lacked confidence in mental health services. This report is part of the Department Of Health's response to this. The report Inside/Outside is the result of many months’ hard work by Professor Sashidharan and members of the Ethnicity and Mental Health external reference group.
