Outcomes

There are many views on what an appropriate and useful outcome is. Many outcomes have been developed to assess the experience of recovery from illness. It is a term often used to mean the positive changes, benefits, learning or other effects that result from the work of clinicians. Outcome measures are often called instruments or tools but are usually based on questionnaires, either self-completed or administered by a clinician or researcher. Adopting outcome measures also helps to establish which interventions and services are desirable and cost effective.

There are documents in the Resource Library providing information on a range of outcome measures. Go to the tag cloud and click on Outcomes or search for specific topics.
