Acute Care Programme

The Acute Care Programme (ACP) is part of the National Improving Mental Health Care Pathways Programme. The Pathways programme focuses on prevention and early intervention and supports the delivery of personalised and socially inclusive care for anyone who experiences mental destress.

The National Acute Care Programme supports home treatment teams, respite, crisis housing provision, supported housing provision, inpatient beds, acute day treatment services, PICU, and places of safety.

The key objective of the Acute Care Programme for 2009/10 is to respond to the recommendations of the Healthcare Commission's review of acute inpatient care as outlined in Pathway to Recovery and also to the National Audit Office's Value For Money review of Crisis Resolution Home Treatment
