How to commission and deliver mental health services in the downturn.
‘As the economic downturn begins to bite it is now essential that commissioners and providers work together more closely to ensure that the quality improvements in mental health services we have seen up to now continue to be made.’
Steve Shrubb - director, Mental Health Network
‘Meeting the challenge, taking the opportunity’ will provide an excellent opportunity for commissioners and providers to explore together the economic, service and policy challenges facing them over the next few years.
The event will bring together senior leaders involved in commissioning and providing mental health services in the East of England and South East Coast regions. The aim is to discuss and develop some shared principles and strategies for responding to the downturn, and to identify the practical skills and tools commissioners and providers will need to rise to the challenge.
The event will be designed as an interactive seminar to encourage delegate participation and to facilitate sharing of knowledge and experience throughout the day.
Key note speaker Steve Shrubb - director, NHS Confederation Mental Health Network
Steve will open the event by setting out the challenges and opportunities for commissioning and providing high quality mental health services in the economic downturn.
